Their future boutiques will be where one can indulge in the refine chocolate world through traditional yet innovative concept combining superior quality and style.

2008

“Nougatini” is expanding internationally. Its first shop opened in fall in Kuwait followed by Abu Dhabi, following to the rest of GCC and middle eastern countries. The Barrage daughters want to bring a whole new concept of chocolate lifestyle. Their future boutiques are places where one can indulge in the refine chocolate world through traditional yet innovative concept combining superior quality and style.

1993

The daughters returned home and refurbished their store in Hamra to its past glory. Karima introduced a wide range of unwrapped chocolate all handmade with a percentage of 60 and 70 to 80% pure Cacao. She initiated the lebanese people to consume the organic dark chocolate.

1987

The family Barrage left the war behind to establish their shop in London. The daughters Karima and Rima carried on after the death of their father in 1988. Located in the prestigious area of Kensington. Nougatini had all the rich and famous from the late Lady Diana to the royal family of Jordan as well as the rest of the British and Arab community.

1968

Kamal Barrage split from his brother to branch out on his own with the “Nougatini” name. Soon the shop located in Hamra district became a landmark for the best chocolate shop in Beirut

1941

The elder brother Mahmoud, founded his first chocolate factory “President” followed by another one “Crown” and acquired the right of fabrication of the famous Caffarel Italian chocolate to the Middle East followed by the brand name Bafqa.

1940

These 2 brothers opened the famous “Patisserie Suisse” on Bab Idriss downtown. It became a mystique place for the young Beyrouthies to see and be seen in this chic place.

1938

Kamal Barrage maitre chocolatier founded with his brother a Chocolate Parlor, where swiss girls served chocolate mou and initiate the clients to drink hot chocolate
